No mine arent broken. this is a question on how much insurance to carry. i have a 81, so it needs fiberglass work and paint to replace them first are any still available new? second how much would a job of replacing them cost if one or both got cracked. is like 10 grand in coverage enough? we used to have the revcon covered for 25 grand, but mom let that policy lapse.my ins agent and i estimate it's worth 12.500 now (what we paid for it in 01) anyway was quoted 200 a yr for that insurance towing and 0 deductible glass too. any more and they want to have appraised if i want it insured for more. i need to do some paint work before i do that, one step at a time here. |

Can't answer the question on how much since I haven't done windshields. Yet. But there's a few companies that do have windshields for Revcons. One of those is Coach Glass in Oregon (they distribute nationwide), another is RV Glass Solutions. That company did the rear glass on my coach (whoever had the coach before me put in a Plexiglass rear window). Insurance on a Revcon is a touchy subject. The coaches are all old enough to vote, so depreciated values on them in the eyes of an insurance carrier are usually low. Real low. Best way to go with insurance that I've been told is to have the coach professonally appraised and have a declared value-type policy put on it, that will pay a guaranteed amount minimum if the coach is totaled. Especially if you've put a bunch of work into it. It would really suck to get a $3,000 payout offer from Joe the Insurance Adjustor on a coach you've got in excess of $50K sunk into....but this both can and does happen every day. Insurance companies love to underallow... |

thanks for the advice, i will have it appraised after i clean it up and then raise the coverages. pretty much this insurance i'm getting is to get it home and clean it up then go to a local campground and tinker some more while i'm camped. |
