Great to find this sight. I see the yahoo one is still up as well, which is the most active? The link on this one to the revcon Curious Archive didn't work for me.
About me. I'm gearhead who loves sprts cars and motorcycles.. I have raced vintage motorcycle for many years and was looking for an improvement to sleepng in the van at the track. Though an Airstream bambi was the solution and when researching Airstreams I learned about revcons. Like a moth to the flame for a gearhead like myself. I bought a 1983 33' King almost 2 years ago. It has been a nightmare. I bought it sight unseen and the seller was very dishonest in deswcribing the coach. Oh well, leesons learned. It has very low milage but it also sat in the desert for many years and all the rubber components are shot. I got it running pretty well with all fluids flushed and replaced with top quality synthetics. Now the engine main seal leaks. I'm working on sorting the hotel systems now. The biggest challenge has been that I am ot equiped to do major work and something this big and I no longer have a machine shop. I will have many, many questions.
The paint is about half gone now. It was balack and silver. Silver paint in the '80's didn't stick to anything, especially aluminum. Since paint is so expensive I am considering polishing it. Has anyone else done this?
The windows all need rebuilding. what is the best source for the felt channels that they slide in? Mart Moore lists two sizes but I'm not sure what to measure. Is it the channel width with the felt removed?
I can't keep the house battery charged, even with the disconnect open.
Are there any direct replacement shock absorbers that don't require machining or welding?
Many more questions to come. Keith I will now update my signature profile.
