Hello,
I have a 1972 Revcon 250 that needs a Fuel Tank Sending Unit replaced, does anyone know what sending unit they may have used on this coach. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Joe

Is the resistor still good? IF so, you could measure the resistance. This would let you know which type it is. Then order one from Summit racing.

Yes, there are two basic standards and I could not remember which one was used. That was one of the reasons I went to an electronic dash on my coach. I replaced the fuel tank and the new sending units were not compatible. I went to an all digital dash.

If you don’t mind telling me where did you get a new fuel tank, or did a metal shop make it for you ?

They were actually surplus plastic fuel tanks for boats. Two 40 gallon. Brand new. They were 8 inches tall, and 2 feet wide and 4 feet long. It was a boat salvage and surplus store. If I remember correctly, they were 200 buck each. I searched on and off for about 2 years before I stumbled on these. I had to drill one of the access place to install an extra pickup for the generator, but that was the only modification to the tank. I built a frame to support them and hold them to the bottom of the coach. For the sending units, I used a 4 pin trailer connector just in case I needed to pull them again.

Thank you for the information, plastic tanks would be a better choice anyway. Very good idea.

Just make sure if you are buying a plastic tank that it is made for fuel. The plastic tanks I bought were coated inside. Just curious how tall of a tank will fit?

Here is a list from Moeller Marine. I'm pretty sure that is who made my tanks. I see a 36 gallon tank that is only 8 inches high, or a 48 gallon tank that is 9 inches high. Do as I did, mount two tanks side by side, longitudinally. They will never leak, but they are expensive. I was fortunate to find mine surplus.
