Hey everyone!

In doing some work on my coach over the last few days it became apparent that the switch for the interior DC hall lighting (3 DC fixtures) by the door was pretty much toast. The switch was getting harder and harder to throw, and when I pulled the panel & checked it from behind, the switch was hot as hell with the hot lead very discolored. So.... replacement switch time!

In checking, it looks like Revcon (at least on the Slantnose models) used Marquardt switches, Model #1803 in most of their inside lighting panels. Based on today's experience I can tell you from the amount of glue used on these switches, extracting one from the custom-made panel without destroying things is a cast iron BEAR! The switch is rated at 6A, although there's now 10A switches in the same form factor that are a direct replacement.

Don't think I'm going to reuse the factory panel however, I'm purchasing a slightly larger switch plate that will accommodate the larger lighted SPST rocker switches such as the kind used in race cars, larger boats, and by Federal Signal in the old SW70 patrol car switch panels. I've got a supply of these switches from an old ambulance I helped take apart, and the larger switch will be more durable. It's really only the hall light switch that gets thrown most of the time anyway. Two out of the three Revcon panel lights are burned out, and the plastic plate got a bit scratched trying to dig the defective switch out. Here's the linky for the product spec page if anyone's interested. Prices vary on the OEM replacement switches from $1.50 to $6.00 or so depending where you source the part from .

Seems like you got the switches worked out. I found a replacement for a missing Thin-lite at http://rvinteriors.visonerv.com/cgi-bin ... 0596/s5.pl. I don't know if it works but I'll let you know. If you needed to replace the lights, maybe this vendor has more. Otherwise, you can check with Thin-lite for new ones that will look the same, but prepare your pocket for a hit.

I rebuilt one Thin-lite fixture already from parts I picked up on EBAY (bad ballast). I've got another one I need to re-do, if it's just a ballast that's do-able. It has a hard time firing off once started so you get the dim flickering bulb syndrome.

I need to troll EBAY more for some of these parts, they do come up fairly often it seems. Old RV's in salvage yards may also be a source of some of these kind of goodies....

And... just to close the loop, here's how the new switch panel turned out. These are Cole-Hersee lit switches that I used, Federal Signal sold these as their OEM in a number of applications. I was able by using these switches to eliminate some of the original wiring which was no longer needed. The switches have a good feel to them, they'll probably outlast the coach.
