Not my former coach but has very similar modifications. My engine was the 8.2 liter 502 crate motor, not the 496. The 502 was made for high RPM, where the 8.1 was stroked low RPM. Torque was similar in the bottom end, but the top end had an extra 500 RPM before redline. It was also designed to run WOT at 5200 RPM all day, so if you wanted to scream it up the mountains it was OK with that. In theory that 496 should have gotten better mileage, but according to the add, it sounds like it got very similar mileage. This one also has a 5 speed, where mine was only a 4 spd. One critical note, that while the diff had bearings replaced, it is not built. I don't really know what the torque curve was like for the 496, but mine at full throttle would warp the diff case enough to break teath off the ring gear. I had to have the diff massively reinforced.
As I recall, I chatted with the guy who did the mods. We both did our rear brake conversions around the same time, but independent of each other. His was more elaborate, as he accounted for an E-brake, where I ignored incorporating one. He did a lot more custom fabricating to make it work, where my conversion was a straight bolt on. Looks like it would be an interesting coach to buy, although I don't think there is any hope of getting his asking price.
Thanks for posting, I'll keep an eye on it.
