This is kind of an introductory post. I'm thinking of selling my Revcon. As much as I hate to part within, I'm being given a much newer Allegro. Mixed emotions because the build quality will not be good, but its newer and has slideouts.

I have a few things I need to do to prep it for sale. This first will be upper A-frame bushings and steering gear box. Once those are done, it should be ready for sale.

This is the most modified Revcon on the Planet, which makes it difficult to part with. It has a 502 crate motor with an Edelbrock MPFI. Thorley Headers, Magnaflow mufflers. Estimated around 440HP, based on acceleration tests and desktop dyno calculations. It has a 4L85 trans that was custom performance built. The front differential has been modified with stabilized bearing caps and 1/4 plate cover to prevent flex. It was also cryo treated. Steering bellcranks have been modified with tapered roller bearings. Rear disk brakes. Koni FSD shocks. Rear track bar. All mods have been problem free and take advantage of the handling capability of the original design. I have seen 98 mph on the GPS, twice towing a Grand Cherokee. This will out accelerate half the cars out there. If you need to get around a car on a two lane road, and you are pulling a toad, you still just step on it and go - providing there are no cops around - you'll be doing over 80 by the time you pull back in.

I've got my heart and soul into this machine, so I have a lot of mixed emotions about parting with it. I've owned this coach since 2001 and probably logged nearly 100K in that amount of time. Not sure how this will all turn out, but well see.

A list of a few more mods and upgrades. The furniture up front was replaced about 10 years ago. New Ultraleather captains chairs, and a sofa. The barrel chairs were replaced recently. While technically they are office chairs, they do not look like it, as they are white which matches the captains chairs. They are very comfortable, and we often pull them out of the coach to use for other things. The fridge was replaced when I bought it 16 years ago. The furnace is new last year, the hot water heater was new 3 years ago. The grey tank was replaced with a 40 gallon tank (original was 27 gallons). The fuel tanks were replaced with two 40 gallon plastic marine tanks, so no fuel leaks or rusted tanks. The window awnings are about 5 years old. The main awning is functional, but getting very worn. Rims are 16 inch. There are no rear spacers on the rear axle. Between the aluminum rims and lighter disk brakes, I've taken 150 lbs of unsprung weight off the rear axles. Firestone Transforce are in good condition. I drive this coach a lot, so tires are well within the age limits.

Incidentally, I'm not looking to get a ton of money for this coach. I'm in touch with reality. Mostly what I need to do is pay for a extra driveway to the rear of my house, so I can park the Allegro in the back.

Shucks. I haven't been on this site for a long time. I thought you would be interested in buying the McMillan coach I bought from him two years ago, which I have decided to sell.

rBeck Don't tempt me. After ending up with my dad's '04 Allegro Bay, I sure miss the Revcon. Everything it so fragile in this new coach. Ya, there is a lot more space, but its like you breath on it, and it breaks. I've also put more money into it, then I sold my old one for.

Originally I wanted to buy McMillan's coach and do a drivetrain swap. Then sell my for dirt. It would have been a ton of work, but worth it.

Dave,

You know you want it, you know you have to have it. Buy it! Or, maybe I'll sell you mine! lol

The McMillan coach would be most awesome as I seem to remember it's a 1988 34-foot Special Edition? (don't hold me to that though...)

Eric

The McMillan coach must be the one Marty Moore owned. Reason I mention is that I saw the exterior when it was parked in one of his service bays in San Diego several years back. It was all white, had flat sides that appeared to be conventional (not aluminum). I also took notice of the whale tail and articulated wipers, not then being familiar with mods of later years.

It was interesting to see the modern touches later added to my slant nose '84 King version. Marty said the owner had been a good friend that willed it to him and then Marty (or his estate) must have passed it on to rbeck. He and his wife were getting too old to use it much, and he preferred to spend time on his first love which was his Hot Rod '40 Ford project also parked in the shop. My mechanic in Quartzsite Johnny delPino of Best Auto turned out to be a Hot Rodder too!

I never got around to selling the McMillan 1988 34SE until recently. It is now seriously for sale with an asking price of $39,000. It has had extensive rebuild of the drive train except the engine, with original parts, not modified. New chain in transfer case, new gears in Dana, for example. It has been driven only about 3740 miles since I bought it six years ago. Listed on RV Trader. It has been suggested that I take it to auction at Mayco in Tennessee for a better selling price. If this was ever owned by Marty , it was sold to someone else before they sold it to Russ.
